I kept procrastinating on drawing this but I finally locked in, time taken is a bit over 3 hours. You may have noticed the change of art style if you know me from Scratch, too — I wanted to change to an easier art style to draw and one that would be easier to draw eery art successfully with, and I think I’ve been successful. The ‘16’ on the cake is bothering me but otherwise I’m very happy with this, especially since it was my first attempt at drawing in this art style. I also tried out some new brushes, and I think they fit the mood very well. ❤️❤️ Man the quality is so bad this is bringing tears to my eyes. I’ve posted this on Tumblr if you want a clearer version ^_^ tap anywhere to magnify. ──────────────────────── ⚠️ Spoilers for The Disastrous Life of Saiki K ahead ⚠️ ──────────────────────── If you’re confused, basically this digs deeper into how Saiki is in a time loop due to continuously failing to stop a volcano from destroying Japan. He has to go back a year every time he fails to stop it, as that ‘resets’ the volcano to its state a year ago where it’s not about to erupt. Basically he alters everyone’s memories or whatever a bit so that they think it’s normal that the year keeps resetting and they repeat the same year, but obviously he knows it’s not normal and has to experience the same 16th birthday every year, while being stumped on how to stop the volcano. I probably explained that badly and definitely didn’t include everything, I’d suggest reading the manga and watching the anime to understand what I mean ✌️ I know that he finally manages to stop the volcano later on and finally turn 17, but this focuses on the time period when he couldn’t figure out how to stop it okay? Okay. He’d never get a 17th birthday, it’s always his 16th. At this point, 17 is just an illusion. ──────────────────────── ♡ Credits • Song: Fever Dream by HOSHINOHA • Magnify code: @colorsnatch • Art + description: @Xylorythm • Drawing app: Ibis Paint X
