Everything that happened in the past is ambiguously canon, but in this universe what is "real" is difficult to discern in the first place. Your character is reduced to a comically two-dimensional version of themself until they experience something so jarringly emotional (positive or negative) that they snap out of retcon-hypnosis and recover their memories and development. New characters have been spawned and retroactively made to have always existed to hopefully shake things up enough that they go in the right direction this time. New players welcome. Of course, to trigger this there have to be holdovers. Which hinge on you lot trusting Katabasis. Your options are a fresh start and simpler plot or a messy fight against the Authors.
