Noah is APPARENTLY an ugly asf loser with absolutely no friends. Reese is this model guy who's the complete opposite: popular and conventionally attractive ok the trope is generic but trust me on one jolly morning Noah wakes up, goes to school (obviously) and then he is able to see these monsters floating behind people's backs. Noah finds out SOMEHOW that these monsters are people's negative internal thoughts about themselves. It works like this: the bigger the monster -> the more insecure the person who owns it is I won't go deep into the characters and stuff bc that will spoil the plot Noah: basically hates himself, supposed to be the "most insecure person" in the story Reese: stresses out over small things about himself like "oh there's dark spots on my knee", he'd be the type to panic if he gets a scar anywhere on his body, tries to maintain a perfect appearance whenever he's out in public, he dislikes his eyes a lot and views them as creepy Cecilia: constantly bullied by Emilie and her friends, the bullying is why she develops small insecurities about her figure (like how she thinks her legs are "too fat" so she wears sweatpants to cover them), Emilie gave her the nickname of "crybaby", yo idk how but she ends up falling for this girl (I'm still thinking abt it ok ok), oh right she's noah's cousin who Reese confuses for his "girlfriend" and gets jealous of, she has a piercing on her neck bc its cool idk Emilie: I haven't designed her yet but she's french and she has a big fat crush on Reese, views Cecilia as competition because she's pretty, I'd say she's the 2nd most insecure in the story because she constantly compares herself to others (ESPECIALLY CECILIA) I won't spoil more bc I need u guys to be interested so that u can BULLY ME into actually starting the first chapter idk thats it I think
