Hunger Games Reading Log August 14, 2026. Chapters 1-5. Pages 1-68 REACTIONS WHILE READING: So, already knowing there's a lot of death in this book, Gale better not die. Peeta likes her. He keeps staring at her. She's more oblivious than Sophie and Percy. She keeps thinking Peeta is using a plan to win this. I think he's just sad, girl. (The Opening Ceremonies Scene) "He lets out a sigh of relief. "It works."" So, you mean to tell me that you didn't even test the suits before this? (When he compliments her after the Ceremonies so she decides to kiss his cheek) SHE KISSED HIM. You don't do that to a man's feelings Katniss (>ლ). He's being nice, there's no bad motive. Poor Peeta. THOUGHTS: So far so good :D 10/10. So far, I love all the characters! I actually thought I wasn't going to enjoy it, that's why I was putting it off for so long because I was scared of hating a very loved book. But then I saw people with similar taste as mine like it and then in Netflix there's the movies, and I thought, "No way no how am I gonna watch the movies until I read the book." So here I am. August 17, 2026. Chapter 6-27 Page 69-358 REACTIONS WHILE READING: "She has no idea. The effect she can have." 'What on earth does that mean?' It means he likes you. 'I glower at the roll sure he meant to insult me.' Girl whyyyyy? 'but a tiny part of me wonders if this was a compliment.' IT IS. (During Ceaser's interview with them) HE SAID HE LIKED HER. "Is he still pretending to love me for the audience?" He isn't pretending tho... (Katniss dying of dehydration) The moment she said, "I love mud." I was like, "mud? wait. to make mud you need water! Katniss wake up! Water!" (After they change the rules so if two tributes from the same district are the last ones standing they both win) YESSS. GO KATNISS. Get Peeta! Now! Before he dies or something! And then get married and have 3 kids! THEY KISSEDD "Then he smiles as if he'd be happy to lie there gazing at me forever. He's great at this stuff." BECAUSE HE ACTUALLY LIKES YOU. She better tell him she loves him too or else I'm gonna be sooooo mad. "This perplexing, good natured boy who can spin out lies so convincingly the whole of Panen believes him to be hopelessly in love with me, and I'll admit it, there are moments when he makes me believe it myself?" ...............rly???? (After they change the rules AGAIN) How dare they change the rules....... I don't want either of them to die! I want my ship to be official!!! (After the berries) Thank God. They're alived. That was the worst ending imaginable...... Okay. So. Yep. This book is amazing. This is the first book where I was like, "Just one more chapter" and proceeded to accidentally finish the book. 10/10 Beautiful After reading this book I went and saw the first movie, and I really enjoy it too. Really book accurate ngl. No wonder they haven't done like a remake again or anything. I think the only times I got upset about it was when Katniss whisper Peeta's name instead of yelling it after they changed the rules, and when they were training separately instead of together.
