dusk took one last glance at her clan before padding out the clan entrance. this was her day. the day she'd been dreaming about for moons. the day that she would get her title, blessed by starclan. this would be the day that everyone in her clan would respect her as the leader. she would get full control over summitclan, and nobody could ever question her decisions or the fact that she used to be a loner. dusk strode confidently through all the territories, finally stopping at the entrance of the moonstone. she paused and looked through the mouth of the cave. she closed her eyes and took a deep breath before stepping in. she was ready. when she arrived at the moonstone, she breathed in the wonderful sight. it was beautiful. the moonlight reflected off of the glossy stone, and she stared at it with wonder before taking a step forward. dusk leaned forward and touched her nose to the moonstone. she opened her eyes. she was in another world. stars surrounded her, and every step she took made a glow on the ground. cats stepped up and padded up to her. one by one, they each touched her nose. one life of compassion. one life of respect. one life of belief. one life of bravery. one life of determination. one life of loyalty. one life of loyalty. one life of honor. each life shot through her body in a spasm. she panted by the time it was time for the last one. the last cat, hidden by the shadows. his face was somewhat familiar. she squinted, unable to see his face clearly. he stepped up and met her eyes. "i give you this life, for faith in starclan and your clan." his eyes met dusk's and she realized something. he knew. when he leaned in to touch her nose, he hissed, "we know who you are." her eyes widened, and one last spasm went through her. she panted just as starclan began to fade away. "wait!" she yelled, trying to chase after the tom. she was sent back to the moonstone, which had lost its glow. she panted. what did he mean? he surely didn't know...did he? she shook her head, trying to clear her thoughts. she stepped out of the cavern, still in shock of what had happened that night. suddenly, a fox with glowing amber eyes stepped out of the shadows. her eyes widened, and she sank down. it was fate. and it was what she deserved. frail, she sat down, having no energy to fight. the fox lunged at her, and her vision turned black. that night, she didn't go to starclan. she went to the dark forest.
