When I was in 7th grade I was very interested in spacecrafts capable of traveling at relativistic speeds. So this was one I made a very long time ago. Ascension I is an extremely large generation starship (over 5000km in length) designed to travel at around 30-36% the speed of light in order to transport thousands of humans to Proxima Centauri B, within just 42 years. It is powered mostly by country-sized nuclear fusion reactors (deuterium/helium-3) and has its own magnetic field generator: an enormous ring of magnetic material generating a magnetic field roughly 20,000km in diameter. This is a tiny portion of the information I've written down while designing Ascension 1, maybe less than 5%.
Most of the facts are really old, and I'm not sure if it would actually work, but as a thought experiment, it's good enough.
