You must be loyal to your clan only. Do not hunt or trespass on another Clan’s territory. Elders and kits must be fed before apprentices and warriors. Apprentices cannot eat until the clan has been feed or they have been given permission. Prey is killed only to be eaten; give thanks to StarClan for its life. Kits must be at least six moons old to become apprentices. Newly made warriors must keep a silent vigil for one night. A cat cannot be deputy without mentoring at least one apprentice. The deputy becomes leader when the leader dies, retires or is exiled. A new deputy must be chosen before moonhigh after the previous one retires, dies or is exiled. A full‑moon Gathering is held under a truce; no fighting allowed. Boundaries must be checked and marked daily; challenge trespassers. No warrior may neglect a kit in danger, even from another Clan. The leader’s word is law. An honorable warrior does not need to kill another cat to win a battle unless necessary they are outside the warrior code or if it is necessary for self‑defense. A warrior rejects the soft life of a kittypet. Clans must help each other in times of trouble so none will fall.
