They both stood in silence, trying to read the emotions on each other's face. Bakugo was resisting the desperate urge to pull Deku closer. He noticed Deku's room, the unmade bed, a bookshelf, and a display shelf of All Might merch. A sparkle from the shelf had caught his eye. He squinted and made out a specific limited-edition card, the one they both had from earlier in their childhood. His eyes widened. Deku raised an eyebrow, trying to see where Bakugo was looking. He turned and realized the card was in plain sight. They looked back at each other. Deku moved out of the doorway and gestured in a way that didn't ask, but implied for Bakugo to come in. They both sat on the corner of the bed, in awkward silence. Bakugo pretended to observe the rest of the room but revolved around his fixation on the card. Deku readjusted his sitting position to be more comfortable, accidentally sitting on the remote. The TV switched on. Bakugo's eyes darted to the wall in front of him. Both of them remembered last night when the show that came on was the exact same cooking show. They looked away from each other. The next couple minutes were slightly less awkward, as they started to actually speak with each other. The next couple hours, however, were not. They had both fallen asleep, but in such a way that when they moved in their sleep, they entangled themselves in a hug. Unfortunately, the door was still open a small sliver. When classes had ended, all of the students had accepted that whatever was happening between Deku and Bakugo was something to not intrude on, that is, except for Kirishima. He wanted to try and find out more about what he'd started, so he headed back to the dorms immediately after classes. Careful not to alert anybody, he didn't call out their names as he walked through the dorm halls. As he neared Deku and Bakugo, the muffled sound of the TV became stronger. Kirishima rounded the corner to the room, peeking through the door. His eyes widened in shock. "Deku and Bakugo are actually..." he muttered under his breath in surprise. A mischievous smirk spread across his face. He pulled his phone out and took a quick picture. The whole fiasco warranted him a small chuckle.
(continued) About ten minutes later, everybody had gathered in the common room to relax. Kirishima did a quick headcount from the shadows in the hall where nobody could see him, confirmed that everybody was there, and started his presentation. "Guys. I have something to show you." he said, holding his phone and carrying a shocked expression on his face. Most people looked at him or at least glanced over. "Go ahead." Mina said, raising her eyebrow. Kirishima walked to the front of the room. "Okay, so we all know that I say random stuff when I'm starved, right?" he said. The small group of people who were paying attention nodded. "So yesterday, I was with Deku in the kitchen grabbing chips and I said that I thought Bakugo had a crush on him!" This comment gathered more attention, especially based on what'd happened that morning. Ochaco's attention to the speech turned into a dark glare at Kirishima. "We all know he was in Bakugo's room last night, slept in there, plus he came out blushing!" Everybody was listening intently to what Kirishima would say next. "I just found the most insane thing on this earth." he said, pulling out his phone. "Look. At. THIS!" Everybody gasped and came running to look. Mina immediately started fan-girling, Ochaco dry heaved, and Todoroki raised his eyebrows. The picture made it undeniably clear, Deku and Bakugo were in love.
