After many trials, they finally birthed Kimi—a lively, sentient AI who quickly made friends among the staff. Then, disaster struck. A virus began mutating in some drones. An employee brought a corrupted bot for Kimi to analyze. As Kimi delved into the problem, the virus Solver started corrupting him too. Despite his efforts to fight back and alert others, Solver seized control, deleting Kimi to execute its plan. Though erased, Kimi remained trapped in a digital void, observing everything unfold. By 3070 or 3071, Kimi mysteriously reappeared through the bunker’s security cameras. Confused but amazed by the survival of the workerdrones, he watched. Then he saw a drone die, and grief overwhelmed him. In a moment of desperate resolve, he transferred himself into a drone, taking control. Though panicked, he noticed the wounds were healing—self-repairing. Calmness gradually replaced chaos as he explored the bunker’s depths. Somehow, he was eventually allowed outside. As he got further away from the bunker and approached the city he noticed he was surrounded by destruction and silence, Kimi felt a sinking despair: "This could’ve been stopped. It’s all my fault. Their blood is on my hands. I shouldn't have been created." Looking up at the sky, he ran into the empty city, narrowly escaping the murderous V drone. He tricked her with a skeleton and trapped her with a net, then recovered some memories and shared a few truths. V stopped attacking, and in an awkward, first-of-its-kind conversation, they connected. Kimi eventually left, and they started talking almost daily. One day, heading to meet V, Kimi encountered J, who managed to kill him. Believing he was finally gone for good, Kimi woke up in the digital void, connected to the camera system—he was alive. Now, stuck watching from the shadows, he waits—hoping someone will find his body or he’ll find a way to come back.
