I just finished this game today and holy shtt, I think this game is a 10/10. I really don't know if I can even say exactly what makes this game so enjoyable to me, but there's a few things I can list! The art is amazing, truly beautiful. Characters and dialogue are incredible but overall...I think I love its depiction of life. The game is very grounded in a way I've never seen any other game be. It has characters with very real problems but done in the most realistic way ever. It doesn't make you try to feel absurdly sad for the characters, it's just raw emotions in its true form. I've heard people talk about how we should have more anti-heroes in stories, like a character being sexist who actually is redeemed. most times we just depict characters like that as evil but what does that do for the people who are sexist? Do we not want those people to change? Saying how much someone sucks doesn't insist they should get any better. Now it's not exactly that, but the main character, Mea, kinda sucks. she's not mean but she's reckless, childish, and not very responsible but I really like that cause that's real. There's something really nice about seeing a character who isn't perfect. She's not cool, she's not living a good life, she's struggling. But I think that's great as we often communicate how it's bad to be, childish, or sexist, but never how to actually grow out of those problems and actually change for the better. It doesn’t glamorize these problems but doesn’t present them as bad. It’s more just…that’s how it is. It's a level of relatability no game has ever gotten to me. I would totally recommend it!!! but it might not be your game just a warning! Oh, and also there's kinda some naughty adult stuff, like beer, cigars, and mentions of...how babies are made. but it's really not that bad.
