Hello! If you don't know already, I LOVE Pokemon UNITE. So, for anyone getting the game, this is a starter guide to the basics. Also, sry its so long :3 #1: Pokemon Types There are 5 different categories of Pokemon: Attacker, All-rounder, Speedster, Supporter, and Defender. Attackers are your ranged Pokemon. On their own, they are usually very weak and can easily be taken out by a speedster, all-rounder, or in some cases defenders. However, they be very game changing with one or two other teammates with their high damage output and high burst damage. All-Rounders: These Pokemon are often close quarters attackers. and they tend to be more beefy in terms of stats, but their move cool downs aren't always the absolute best, but usually these are typically the best Pokemon if your looking for exiting skirmishes with the other team. (just don't get overconfident and take on too many) Speedsters: These are most of the time low health, high damage potential Pokemon. They don't always have the best hp and are very vulnerable to burst damage*, but they can deal massive damage if you know how to use em. They are also very influential for match momentum since they are mostly useful for the first half of the match. Defenders: These are your tanks. They have the best hp stat of any other class, but the downside is that they don't do huge amounts of damage. They also can hinder the other team's stats with their attacks. Sometimes they can also be kinda slow. Supporters: These Pokemon don't do much fighting, and are usually very weak, however, they can heal allies, provide buffs, or hinder the other team. These Pokemon, while they don't do much, can decide matches or skirmishes. #2 Gameplay So, now that you know basics about the Pokemon, we're on to Gameplay. Most matches will be 10mins long. The goal is to score as many points as you can. You score points with energy, which you get from wild Pokemon from around the map, or from opposing Pokemon you defeat. Each goal you score on has durability, and once you score points equal to or greater than the durability, it is destroyed and another opens down the lane. Points are doubled in the last 2 mins. Also, the Pokemon all get XP and will level up from defeating Pokemon (both wild and opponents) Most Pokemon need a certain lvl to evolve, and once the do, you will OFTEN get a new move depending on the Pokemon, At the 2 minute mark, a big pokemon spawns. If your team defeats it, you get xp, and your goals will be scored faster, so do your best to get it. Map layout There are 3 main parts: Top Path, Bottom Path, Central Area (more commonly known as 'the jungle'). The top path is mostly for the tanky Pokemon to duke it out in the first part of the match. The Bottom Path is for Pokemon who need to get a bit more XP at the start, but don't entirely need mid to final evolution stage in the first 2 mins of the match. The jungle is mostly reserved for speedsters that need xp for a strong start to the match and consistent xp supply throughout the match to stay even with the opponents. Other things Some other things to know: You can get held items, which will give you some small buffs, and stat increase. These also sometimes give you special attributes. (example: one will prevent your goal attempts from being blocked) Boost emblems also give you buffs, but can have drawbacks. Also, get used to the Pokemon moves yo're using, which suits you best, map mechanics, preferred areas, etc. Also, I use https://game8.co/ for UNITE stats, move sets, etc. Sorry this is so long, but it should be some basics not covered in the tutorial. I can't really teach controls and stuff here. My fav Pokemon is leafeon. Razor leaf, areal ace. in central area with attack weight, razor claw, and energy amplifier held items. *Burst damage is a lot of damage from a single attack.
