Song: Play pretend By: Me :) Vocals by: @blueberry-covers, @-TinyAsh- & @-CottonCandy234- (They're part of the choir part in the chorus) Genre: Dark pop (which is such an underrated genre just btw) Original, nightcore, instrumental & acapella versions inside If y'all think it's good enough I might put it on YouTube but idk. Its eventually gonna be part of a dark pop album called "Broken toys". Also pls be honest if its trash. I'd rather know if I suck than embarrass myself in front of the entire internet... This is my first original song! I'm so happy I'm finally releasing a song by me! I have come a long way from my last project (Golden cover) which at the time I was super proud of but now looking back it kinda sucks ngl... Anyways, please enjoy! I'll maybe release a lyric video eventually but for now this is all I got.
Lyrics: [Chorus] Oh, just learn to play pretend And you'll fit in with the rest They'll love you if you bend And who cares if you forget Who you're supposed to be Give them what they wanna see This world just doesn't need The person you are beneath Oh, just learn to play pretend And you'll fit in with the rest They'll love you if you bend And who cares if you forget Who you're supposed to be Give them what they wanna see This world just doesn't need The person you are beneath [Verse] If you like to play pretend, then I've got the game for you This game really is quite simple, let me explain the rules All you gotta do is smile, say you don't give a care Someone tries to pull you under act like there's no one there. [Pre-chorus] Try this every day until you do it mindless Let the games become a habit Faking who you are till the real you starts fading, Let it go cause in your heart you know [Chorus] You have to play pretend Or you'll stand out from the rest They'll hate if you don't bend So why don't you just forget Who you're supposed to be Give them what they wanna see This world just doesn't need The person you are beneath Just learn how to play pretend Oh, learn how to play pretend [Bridge] Just play along, dance to their song, I know you'll have fun all day long No one will see what's underneath Just fake a smile that's all they need And once you're done, can't play along, They'll say the game has just begun If you don't bend, you break instead, then you should learn to play pretend [Chorus] Oh, just learn to play pretend And you'll fit in with the rest They'll love you if you bend And who cares if you forget Who you're supposed to be Give them what they wanna see This world just doesn't need The person you are beneath Tags (ignore):
