i have some art i made hidden in the project (the sprite is titled ‘lotus art’). i'm not proud of my first drawing, but i may draw some more. idea dump: [note that serein is going to be flexible and if i win her, most of her plot, ideology and views will shift based on her beliefs.] -if applicable, her name before being taken in by whimsy would be nereid, the name of an old oc of mine (they have nothing to do with each other). -she resents saccharine, seeing her as a siren. apparently sirens pull people towards the sea with their magical voices, whereas mermaids are presented as peaceful and benevolent, yet lack the ability to lure people into the water. not meeting the standards she sets, she sees herself as a mermaid, but disgusting. she hates not being able to pull people in like her mother. the sea, metaphorically would be serein's mindscape, a stormy ocean. she wants people to get away from her sea, for a mix of reasons. she wants to focus all her energy on being seen by whimsy'dove and reaching her impossible standards she set on herself. - also according to old folklore, mermaids weren't seen as beautiful, and they could easily be mistaken as animals and such. -when she vents or if she's just feeling bad, she finds herself manipulative for making others feel empathy. doesn't open up at all due to that. -she slowly starts communicating in sign as she ages, and she'd probably start drawing her thoughts. i had a character in gens with selective mutism and they mostly signed but i don't know if there is a mechanic like that in tfc. -there is, in fact, a signing mechanic. -she latches onto cats who don't and won't care for her so she can do the only thing that keeps her busy and try to get better at everything. -she lurks in random corners of wind'clan, seeing her out in the open is rare. -soft voice with lots of vocal fry. i can't find a character who'd fit her voice so i might voice act as her or something lawl. -mildly based off of kanade yoisaki and mafuyu asahina. -looks very messy, unkempt hair, matted fur and will get some bad eyebags in the future. - **THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT ! !** rei (calling her that), being the kit who whimsy picked last, is somewhat aware of the fact that saccharine was only taken in to make whimsy look good. she doesn't resent whimsy, but it still aches. kofuku kei by lonepi... sorry i don't like how sega tunes meiko, so no n25.
