Introducing: The Coldi's Spa Hurricane Basin! Despite being on a planet with frigid temperatures, this basin takes most of the heat from the planet's north hemisphere and stores it here, allowing the basin to be warm enough for tropical and subtropical cyclogensis! Press the flag to start the hurricane season! Press the green flag to restart the hurricane season all over again. Use the left/right arrow keys to change the music Use the up/down arrow keys to adjust music volume. Press 0 to mute the music instantly Press t to show/hide storm tracks Music credited to Force Thirteen! The warmer the water, the stronger storms could get. The colder the water, the weaker storms can get. Peak season: Between July 15th and August 15th ❌F4F ❌Advertising ✔️Interviews ❌Spam
9/29-30/2026 [Version 2]: Buffed intensification rate of storms over warm waters in order to be able to reach Category 5 status despite having frequent eyewall replacement cycles! Explanation video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uzq3D2sJfac Website coming out soon! (hopefully) Aside from making the project entirely about the Coldi's Spa basin and modifying the storms' behavior, deaths, and damage rates to fit into the Coldi's Spa basin standards, I also: -Readded the feature where you can press 0 to mute the music instantly -Made it less likely for disturbances to immediately turn into tropical storms, they are much more likely to start as tropical depressions -Made disturbances have a chance to be non-tropical lows, which form over higher latitudes and develop much faster over cooler waters -Allowed all 3 storm sprites to become subtropical, since the Coldi's Spa basin sees subtropical storms more frequently than the Atlantic basin -Buffed subtropical storms, allowing them to intensify faster over cooler waters -Made it so that storms can now only start extra tropical transition when they are over cold waters -Made the date marker and landfall effects look more like Force Thirteen -Modified the naming list so that it doesn't always start from the letter A, because the Coldi's Spa Basin uses a naming list similarly to the SATL, NIO, and WPAC (before 2000), where the naming list doesn't reset every season -Added the city mechanic made by @AngelPandaEarth, and made them give news updates when storms or disturbances pass close to them or through them -Did many tweaks with intensification over the course of developing the project, since I have to make sure that Category 5 hurricanes are rare enough, but not impossible to develop. I may continue to made modifications for intensity in the near future. -Hurricanes can now become annular when they are over cool waters or after eyewall replacement cycles, allowing them to sustain their intensity or intensify over cooler waters for a day or two -Hurricanes, especially major hurricanes, will often go through eyewall replacement cycles, which will cause their intensity to stagnate for several hours or days, even over very warm waters -Fixed a glitch where the labels and wind fields of tropical cyclones don't disappear when the project is restarted -Made it so that storms that are still ongoing when the project is stopped for any reason will still be put on the Logs list.
