"You alone are my heart's desire and I long to worship you" / "'I bore God's wrath,' He pleads my case–my Advocate and Friend." These two are probably in my top 5 list of favorite hymns and I thought they'd be good to mash together since they sound similar (musically) and transitions would almost be seamless. Sorry that the timing is weird and my voice sounds kinda weird lol. I was reading back and forth between two music sheets (one for As The Deer and the other of I Run to Christ) while listening to a diff recording of me singing the melody w/ piano (for timing purposes) so I tried my best :') I recently came back from Christian camp and let's just say God used it once again (I went last year also) to work in my heart and help me grow in my faith, realizing some things that I hadn't realized before. I'll tell you one thing I learned from camp: Don't put your sin over the one who can save you from it. Oftentimes when we become saved, we Christians get too caught up in the act of not sinning that we end up sinning more than we normally would. Or maybe the complete opposite, treating casual sins as "nothing" when in reality all sins are sins. Even if they're "little" sins, lying, swearing, gossiping, idolatry, disobedience, etc, are all still sins that you need to repent from and ask God for forgiveness. But, don't let your sin or the act of trying not to sin be put over God. Your relationship with God isn't "following rules," because that's not a relationship at all. Really let the facts sit in your heart, that God sent his son Jesus to save us from the punishment we deserve, and that He loves and cares for us in a way no one else can. Despite his authority, omnipotence, omniscience, and power, He is just, caring, loving, and near to the brokenhearted. Maybe the first step to "getting right with God" isn't focusing on just "don't sin don't sin don't sin," but putting your eyes back on Him and His promises. Let Him be the Why and the Who in your life! I hope this hymn cover is a blessing to you. If you have any questions or prayer requests, feel free to tell me. I may not have all the right answers, but I will try my best. I might direct you to other sources who answer your questions better than I can. May God bless you!
