The Royal Alvernisk Navy announced its NAVY2026 plan in November of 2025. This initiative led to the replacement of the Thetis-class frigates with advanced MPV-80, and the expanded stanflex system adding new types of modules and a modern retrofit of the Flyvesken-class patrol vessel. Additionally, the Alvernisk navy bought two new replenishment ships, four new multipurpose minelayers, and five new tank landing craft.
