Okay it’s really late as I’m typing this please enjoy the AU ~ October 31st. A date that most kits like Fireflykit had ingrained into their head as a night of ghosts, ghouls, and enough candy to wake up with a killer stomach ache. The problem, at least for Fireflykit, was trying to figure out what to wear. Fireflykit stood in front of his mirror, awkwardly tilting on his paws to get a better look at himself. Ugh… dressing himself was a pain. All these silly accessories, just for some candy! Of course, Fireflykit loved the candy. Especially Twix. But, for him, he needed to show up with a beautiful costume. Something that would astonish his friends! And, for some reason, this pirate costume wasn’t doing it. Back to the drawing board. Fireflykit fumbled through costumes, holding them up on his claw one by one. Fairy? Too much glitter. A spider? Fireflykit couldn’t imagine trying to have eight legs. Fireflykit frowned, rifling through his costumes. He had a flower crown, some rocks, a misplaced pinecone… Finally, the kit found it. The perfect costume. It just needed some work. Fireflykit lifted the accessory from his costume collection, grinning slightly. This would be perfect. ~ Fireflykit gamboled around camp, going den to den, excitedly collecting candies and preys. Of course, his costume was wonderful. He had a pair of plastic wings on his back, and a flashlight near the base of his tail. He was, well, a firefly! Fireflykit tumbled around, filling his trick or treat bucket with mice, fish, and pretty flowers. As the night wound down (8:00 PM, fireflykit had a strict bed time), Fireflykit retreated to the nursery, dumping his collection over onto his nest. It glittered in the glow of his flashlight, scales gleaming and flowers glowing. Fireflykit grinned proudly at his success, flicking his tail as he worked himself free of his firefly costume. Halloween was sick. He couldn’t wait until he was older and could hand prey like this out to other kits… Fireflykit giggled, dove into his collection, and started nibbling contentedly on a fish.
