Today's the day I finally say it. TWIN CHARACTERS IN MEDIA ARE NOT ACCURATE AT ALL!!!! Coming from someone who is one of two identical twins, I can assure you twins in shows/movies/books/games are FEEDING STEREOTYPES about twins. If I could tell whoever created these characters I would say: Not all twins dress alike. We don't. I think Im allowed to be my own person. we don't talk at the same time. It happens on accident if it does, its not because we are twins. We don't look exactly the same. There are many differences. Other types of twins exist, not just identical and Fraternal. Not all of us have similar names to our twin. Our names don't always rhyme. I dont know what my twin is thinking because reading minds is impossible, though because we have shared interests its common for us to have a SIMILAR thought. Not the same. There is not a "dumb" twin. Or an "evil" twin. We are both of those because that's just who we are. And not every pair is like us. We don't like all of the same things. Interests do vary, and we may share some common interests but we do have our own opinions. Our middle names are NOT each others names. Why does everyone keep asking that? (I dont know, maybe because media is terrible at writing twins..) We don't read at the same speed. We don't have the same art style. Our voices are not the exact same. Twins should not be used for "horror" its wrong. We aren't scary. We are people. We have feelings. We are not the same person. Get it right. Im tired of repeating myself to people who are influenced by the stereotypes spread about twins. Stop. Do you're research. I get annoyed when I get asked these questions and I also get a little hurt. Its not fun. its not nice. And I am not laughing. Good day.
