Music: Yoshi's Tale (Ending) - Yoshi's Story (By Nintendo) ----------------------------------------------------------------- One of the last photo taken of Mercy ----------------------------------------------------------------- Sad story alert, if you wish to continue then scroll down ----------------------------------------------------------------- Mercy is my cat that is 18 years old who had now died (August 3, 2026 at 3:45 PM ish). (About 88 years old in cat years). I know none of you guys know who she is, but she had a very rough life. She was born some time in 2007. She was named Mercy. From what the shelter told us that she had a very sad life. It was unknown what happened from when she was born, but she was found with collar on her really really tight on her. The collar was so tight on her that there is hair still missing on her neck under some of her other hair (it is a little hidden). She was found as a stray outside with that collar. She was lucky rescued by some people. Me and my family wanted to get a new cat from the shelter and we looking for an older cat. We got her in ether 2015 or 2016. The shelter told us her story and we felt so bad and sad for her. We took her and she was such a great well behaved cat. She was so kind and nice to us. She had a buddy named Meowto who sadly died in 2019. So then in 2020 we got two cats named Penelope and Oliver, both from the shelter. Then in 2022 we saved an outdoor cat just before winter. Her name was Oliva, her nickname being Liv. Mercy never really made any friends in her life, not even the other cats we had except us. We all loved her very much and she loved us very much. Eventually, early about 2025 she started getting really really hungry often from a condition and we had to put her on medicine. At this point she was staring to get into pain and starting to get thin. Then in mid 2026, she would start to miss the cat litter box. Recently, August 1, 2026 at midnight she peed on the patio cushion. Me and my family at this point started to get really really worried for her. Then today at August 3, 2026, we put her down at 3:45 PM ish. The average lifespan of an indoor cat is about 12-18 years old. She would never give up. But then even though she didn't want to give up, we had to for her. Mercy, was finally at mercy. Even if life gets hard, like it did for her, never give up. I'm not only writing this to celebrate her, but you. Thank you for not only reading this, but thank you for never giving up. Rest In Peace Mercy. Mercy, finally at mercy. I will never forget you.
