Someone please Full script: THE SOLAR SHOW - EPISODE 1 "Is The Sun On Fire?" [SCENE START] EXT. SPACE - NEAR EARTH'S ORBIT EARTH is just chilling with THE MOON. The Moon doesn't say anything—just stares blankly. Earth looks relaxed, enjoying the peace. VENUS (offscreen, yelling from a distance): HEY! EARTH! EARTH: (Sighing, annoyed) Yes, Venus? VENUS (zooms in close, getting right in Earth's face): Come closer. Look at the Sun with me. EARTH: (Uncomfortable, leaning back) Okay... yes? I'm looking. What? VENUS (pulls back slightly, genuinely curious): Is the Sun glowing? EARTH: (Confused) ...Yes? It's the Sun. It glows. That's literally what it does. VENUS: (Leaning in again, squinting at the Sun) But HOW? I mean, I've been orbiting this system for millions of years and I STILL wonder the same thing every single day... is the Sun on fire? Is he— EARTH: (Bursts out laughing) HAHAHAHA! Wait—wait—did you just say FIRE?! THE MOON: (Stares at Earth like "are you serious right now, bro?" but says nothing) VENUS: (Defensively) Well... YES! Is he on fire or— EARTH: (Laughing even harder) Oh my—Venus. VENUS. You cannot be serious right now. VENUS: (Getting angry) WHAT?! It's a valid question! He's HOT! He's GLOWING! He LOOKS like he's on fire! EARTH: (Calming down, wiping a tear) Okay, okay. Come on, Venus. Think about it. If the Sun was actually on fire—like, CHEMICAL fire—it would need oxygen to burn. You know, like how a candle needs oxygen? VENUS: (Thinking) ...Okay? EARTH: Space doesn't HAVE oxygen. There's barely any atmosphere out here! If the Sun was actually on fire, it would have blown itself out billions of years ago. VENUS: (Confused) Then WHY is it glowing?! EARTH: (Getting into lecture mode, enjoying this) Because the Sun isn't burning—it's FUSING. The Sun is basically a giant ball of gas, mostly hydrogen and helium. About 74% hydrogen, 24% helium. Deep in its core, the pressure and temperature are so incredibly intense that hydrogen atoms get smashed together. VENUS: Smashed? EARTH: Yeah! Four hydrogen nuclei fuse together to form one helium nucleus. And when that happens, some of the mass gets converted into energy—huge amounts of energy. That energy radiates outwards as heat and light. THAT'S why the Sun glows. VENUS: (Processing) So... it's not on fire? EARTH: No! It's a nuclear fusion reactor. A really, really big one. The Sun converts about 600 million tons of hydrogen into helium every single second. That's what keeps it glowing. VENUS: (Staring at the Sun with new eyes) Huh. So he's just... smashing atoms together. EARTH: Exactly. Particles inside the Sun are constantly colliding, creating heat. That enormous heat creates the glowing you see. VENUS: ...That's actually kind of cool. EARTH: I know, right? Now can we please stop staring at the Sun like weirdos? MERCURY (suddenly appears from nowhere): Hey guys! What are we talking about? VENUS: (Without even looking, annoyed) Ugh. Not now, Mercury. MERCURY: But I wanna know! What's going on? VENUS: (Snaps) I SAID NOT NOW! Venus uses her gravitational pull—a massive invisible force—and FLINGS Mercury directly toward the Sun. MERCURY: (Screaming as he flies away) AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! EARTH: (Panicking) VENUS! WHAT DID YOU JUST DO?! VENUS: (Shrugging) He was annoying me. MERCURY (still screaming, getting closer to the Sun): AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA— Suddenly, a GIGANTIC SOLAR FLARE erupts from the Sun's surface. It's a tremendous explosion of radiation and light. The blast hits Mercury directly. MERCURY: AAAAAAAAA... ... . .. . Mercury goes silent. He's been completely blasted by the solar flare. THE SUN: (Turns around slowly, completely oblivious) Hey guys! What was all that screaming about? THE SUN: (Looking at everyone, confused) You guys look a little tense. EARTH: (Staring at the Sun, then at Mercury's smoldering body, then back at the Sun) ...You don't say. [SCENE END]
