Greatly simplifies magnetic field direction but assumes + and - poles are very close That simplified assumption is called "ideal dipole" It's as if magnet's very tiny or that you're very far In my earlier mag fields you can adjust distance of poles, which is more fun but that adds calculations This "ideal" version gives you intuition about fields by simplifying, but my earlier ones are more realistic
