About: The Conway Multiverse but made "decently" in scratch! It's fine for small scale things but bigger things using this would be horribly slow. Because its scratch, yknow? I recently watched a video on "The Conway Multiverse" and it really fascinated me. So much in fact that I made it in scratch! Look below to find out how it works! _____________________________ I'd heavily recommend you watch this video, it's really fun and educational, it will show you how this works youtube.com/watch?v=QK_KZv-YyOc ___________________________ Visuals: Colored = live Not-colored = dead Colors shift from white-yellow-green-blue-purple _____________________________ Rulestrings: "Rulestrings" are the rules that shape your universe. They are what make some things possible, and others not. Knowing how they work will help you get started. The first part of the rulestring is the Birth parameters (B) Birth parameters work like this. If a DEAD cell is surrounded by x many LIVE cells, it will be born and turn into a live cell. This will only happen if B contains X. In Conway's Universe, If a DEAD cell is surrounded by 3 LIVE cells, it will be born. This is because B = 3. B can be multiple numbers. The second part of the Rulestring (after the / ) is the Survival parameter. In order for a LIVE cell to continue living, it must be surrounded by EXACTLY y strings, otherwise it will become a dead cell. In Conway's Universe, Cells can only survive if they are surrounded by 2 or 3 other live cells. This is because S = 23 (the 2 and 3 are treated seperately.) Rulestrings can be easy to understand once you know how they work. Still not sure? Thats okay! (I suck at explaining) Here are some universes I suggest seeing! B3/S23 | Conway's Universe | the habitable zone B3/S12345 | Maze | looks like a maze, is secretly impossible. B3/S1234 | Mazecetric | more maze-like maze. Otherwise check comments for maps and rulestrings! ___________________________________
