Lunevale Part One, Rain - Entry Eight Lines of brown and sharp ovals of leaves merge above head. A tree rests in the middle of a meadow. One single bright fruit hangs from the branches. A girl beneath jumps and jumps and jumps attempting to reach the fruit as she has not eaten for days. She will not climb the tree because the trunk is dirty and crawling with bugs. One day like never before a traveller wanders by. He walks up to the girl suggests Why don't you climb? Because the bugs will crawl over me the girl responds They will eat my clothes and tickle me 'till I fall and then I will be even further from reaching the apple. Give it a try the man says. And so she does. She climbs and climbs and climbs all as the bugs crawl into every part of her bite her shred her clothes and she falls. Says I can't do this anymore. The man simply whispers are you hungry or are you weak. She tries again and again and again and again Every time she gets back up she tries again. Until finally she reaches the apple and her hunger is gone.
