I repeated my sentence but louder and madder. " WHAT.AM.I?" I asked as I choked back the swelling sob. "You're one of them—a pixie. They're extremely rare, and their blood can be used as a cure for cancer," he replied quietly. The hairs on my neck pricked as I shivered in fear. "Are you going to kill me?" I asked, tears streaming down my face. "You have a choice.Either,I'll end your life... or your brother's." my face went pale in shock as I sobbed even harder,"You're cruel!" I screamed. Suddenly, a perfect plan formed in my mind. I stopped my tears, and a small smile crept across my face."Pick me," I said confidently, trying to look defeated.He clicked open the electronic locks on my wrists and ankles. As soon as he was finished, I snatched the key out of his hand and bolted out of the room."Get her!" he screamed in frustration.I sprinted toward the hallway, suspecting Jack was nearby. I quickly cut into a side corridor just as the guards rushed straight past me, thinking I had run ahead. [end of chapter 10]
