am I going to explain the whole lore of the httyd franchise, not all of it since I have no time really, but I'll do the basics :) starting with the 1st movie: the story starts with a boy, the scrawny chiefs son, his name is Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III, he is a failure (like me :( ), and, wanting to prove himself, he tries to shoot down the mysterious Night Fury, a dragon that strikes fear into even hiccups father, Stoick the Vast, hiccup shoots the bolas, and he hits the night fury, the next morning, he's still a failure, so he searches for the night fury, he finds it, and frees it, he comes home a failure again, then he has to do dragon killing school, then he befriends the night fury, he helps it fly again with his help, then stoick finds out, kidnaps toothless, and uses him as a GPS, then hiccup fights the red death.
