GASI has done it, they have successfully recreated the phaser. Redesigned from observations of the ones on the Thunderbolt-Class Battlecruiser, these phasers are entirely GASI designed. While they do work, they are unreliable at this stage of development, and can be prone to catastrophic failure. For this reason, as well as the tactical utility of the Viletny Class, they have developed a warship that is very small and only bears phasers. The doctrine surrounding the ship involves close flybys on enemy ships, where a swarm of Viletny Strike Ships fire their phasers in a devastating barrage. These ships only have one impressive trait other than their armament, speed. They are virtually unarmored, have only a single crewman, and aren't particularly maneuverable. If one of these strike ships is hit, it is doomed. However, the small size of these ships and simplicity of the design makes them extremely cheap to produce. Their small size also allows them to act as carrier fighters.
