we found someone torn to shreds on the boardwalk the other day. not even like an animal mauling, just completely dismembered. parts entirely missing, distorted, or just otherwise maimed. the brutality felt intentional. i'm not too affected, i didn't know them well. but it does lead me to worrying that this won't be the last time it happens.
