“Love one another, by this shall men know that ye are my deciples.” This is one of the most important commandments in Christianity and is often the least followed. Why? Why are there so many people that know this commandment arguing with other people that what they believe is wrong because it’s different from their own belief? Why do people think that they can convert others by proving them wrong? Why do people that want others to come to Jesus not teach them his principles through this commandment? We are supposed to love everyone, not try to prove them wrong out of pride or because we believe that how they view the Gospel is wrong. Everyone’s relationship with God is as individual and unique as the person themself. No one has the right to judge anyone else’s relationship with Christ because it is different from their own. If a person wants to develop or strengthen their relationship with Christ and they ask about your own, support them. Don’t turn them away because it’s different from yours or you feel they shouldn’t be asking questions like that. If you know someone that doesn’t believe and you want to teach them, minister to them first. Show them love and care and tell them them about Christ’s love. Don’t try to teach them by telling them that what they believe or don’t believe is wrong. Our decision to follow or not to follow Christ is our own. We should not feel forced into it, because if that is how we feel, we will not truly feel his gospel or want it. We will feel stressed and like we have to believe a certain way or thing because that’s what other people told us to do. These days it can be hard even to bear your testimony to other people without them telling you that it is wrong and just attacking you any way they can. Does anyone think that that is what God wants? For his children to be opposed when they talk about their relationship with him? Why would a God so loving and merciful want that? He truly loves us more than we can imagine and he blesses us so much. He wants us to show that love to other people. Be like Christ. Walk with him. Be there for others like He is there for you. Show others His love and treat them as graciously as he treats you. Don’t tell people that how they feel is wrong, try to understand it instead.
