── ⋅ ── Amulet Guide Long before the Four entrusted the clans with their lands, the skies of Eldra were said to weep fragments of the heavens themselves. These fragments - known simply as Starstones - fall only during rare celestial events. No cat knows where they truly come from. Some believe they are pieces of the stars. Others claim they are crystallized blessings from Eldra herself. Whatever their origin, Starstones possess an extraordinary property: they naturally absorb and amplify magic. Over generations, skilled artisans learned how to shape these fallen stones into Amulets. Unlike ordinary accessories, Amulets are magical artifacts capable of strengthening a cat's blessing or temporarily granting an entirely new one. ── ⋅ ── What Are Amulets? An Amulet is a wearable magical item forged from a Starstone. While commonly worn as necklaces, Amulets may also be crafted into: - Necklaces - Collars - Tail bands - Leg bands - Shoulder harnesses - Chest pieces - Circlets - Ear wraps - Forehead ornaments - Belt-like body wraps Every Amulet contains a single magical property. Some enhance abilities a cat already possesses, while others grant a completely separate blessing that functions only while the Amulet is being worn. ── ⋅ ── How They Work Every Amulet has one magical effect. Generally, effects fall into two categories: 1. Amplification ** These strengthen an existing Blessing. Examples: - Increased range - Greater control - Reduced exhaustion - Longer duration - Faster recovery - Improved precision - Stronger healing - More powerful elemental manipulation - Bestowed blessings 2. Creation ** Some Amulets grant abilities entirely unrelated to the wearer's natural Blessing. Examples: - Night vision - Enhanced speed - Heat resistance - Camouflage - Water breathing - Minor telekinesis - Light creation - Heightened hearing - Emotional resistance - Temporary gliding - ect. **These abilities disappear immediately if the Amulet is removed. ── ⋅ ── Rarity Not all Amulets are equally powerful. ✦ Common ** Simple enhancements or minor utility abilities. Examples include: - Better balance - Improved stamina - Slightly stronger blessings - Better swimming - Enhanced climbing ✦ Uncommon ** Noticeably stronger magical abilities Examples include: - Brief invisibility - Walking across water - Increased elemental control - Stronger healing - Reduced blessing exhaustion ✦ Rare **Powerful artifacts forged from exceptionally pure Starstones. - These may dramatically amplify a blessing or grant remarkable magical abilities. - Rare Amulets are exceptionally uncommon and highly sought after throughout Eldritch. ── ⋅ ── Sizes Starstones vary greatly in size, meaning Amulets do as well. Some are no larger than a pebble hidden within a ribbon. Others are fist-sized crystals worn proudly across the chest. Larger Amulets are often more visually impressive, but their size does not determine their strength. Even the smallest fragment may contain incredible magic. ── ⋅ ── Durability Starstone is incredibly resilient. Amulets rarely shatter through ordinary use, though powerful magic or extraordinary force may damage them. Broken Amulets lose their magical properties until properly repaired. ── ⋅ ── Obtaining Amulets Official LoErp Shop: TBA **Amulets are NOT freely obtainable.** They may only be acquired through: - The Official Shop - Trades with other players - Special events - Seasonal rewards - Staff giveaways - Plot rewards Your character cannot simply create or discover an Amulet without approval. ── ⋅ ── Ownership Amulets are valuable heirlooms. Many are passed from mentor to apprentice, parent to child, or leader to successor. Others are won, traded, gifted, or recovered from ancient ruins. An Amulet's story is often just as important as its magic. ── ⋅ ── Limitations To keep the system fair: - Characters may only benefit from one Amulet at a time. - Removing an Amulet immediately removes its magical effects. - An Amulet cannot permanently alter a cat's natural blessing. - Characters may only own one Amulet at a time. - Amulets cannot grant abilities that permanently change a character's body or biology. - Some particularly powerful Amulets may require staff approval before use. ── ⋅ ── Final Notes Amulets are among the rarest magical objects in Eldritch. They are not meant to replace a cat's natural blessing, but to complement it. Whether passed down through generations, earned after a great accomplishment, or discovered during an unforgettable adventure, every Amulet should feel meaningful. The stars may fall for every cat… …but only a fortunate few will ever wear one.
