Calvin sat in the tree house, staring at the ocean crashing against the rocks below him. Jasmine climbed up the ladder, breathing heavily. "Why are you trying to hide from everyone?" She asked, hoisting herself up beside him. "It's not funny man." Calvin raised his eyebrows, like he always did when someone talked about his 'hiding away.' He shrugged, refusing to answer her question. The waves calmed a little, and only then did Calvin's shoulders relax. "People are annoying." "I'm not." Jasmine smirked. "I beg to differ..." Calvin laughed as she punched his shoulder. "I'm joking. Maybe you aren't annoying." They sat there together, listening to the birds chirping in the distance, enjoying the smell of fresh rain on the grass. Calvin stared at her, trying not to be obvious. The way her jet black hair fell in curls, her pink dress she wasn't scared to wear, and that mischievous smile never failed to make Calvin's heart flutter. The agonizing thing was, she would never want someone so stupid. At least in his eyes that was the case. Jasmine decided to break the silence, "Why are you growing a mustache?" Calvin gave her a look that said 'okay that isn't fair!' "It's really tough, you have to admit..." "I never said it looked bad..." "Are you trying to say something Jasmine?" "I'm surprised you can grow a mustache." He rolled his eyes, and jumped down onto the rocks below...it wasn't as nonchalant as he thought it was. Along the way, he almost tripped on a big sea crab. At that moment, Jasmine realized he wasn't just a stupid nerd that tried so hard to be a cool guy. Maybe he was actually ... a cool guy.
