So, all of my previously released Toyland stuff is no longer canon. This is the new story, and all that other stuff was from when I was still working on the story. This is the most complete layout I have so far. The game's full name is Toyland Adventures, but I just shortened it to Toyland for readability. Pre-Toyland phase: Moss, Ash, Plum and Latch are a group of friends who play Toyland after school and on weekends. This is barely important to the story, and is only mentioned to show what Toyland looked like before the strange things started happening, and to introduce the characters. For seemingly no reason, the game completely shut down, and all records of it online were removed. The game was not the type to suddenly have no mention of it online, as it had at least 500 players at any given time. A few weeks before Toyland shut down, Ash stopped playing. At the time, the friend group assumed this was just because his computer broke, he was grounded, or he merely lost interest in the game. Plum, Latch and Moss kept in contact via phone for years after, Toyland barely being mentioned, if at all, after the fact. Post-Toyland phase: Moss randomly remembers the game one day, and is surprised to find no records of it online. Finding an old laptop of his, he finds the application file, and the game can be run. It is exactly how he remembered it. Since the game's servers were offline, he had to create a custom party (Toyland's version of custom servers) to explore. Everything is normal until new levels that shouldn't exist appear. They appear to be in the style of Toyland, with names that are slightly adjusted. This is somewhat like a purgatory for Moss, and it all ends in him finding out what happened to Ash; the whole thing is sort of a metaphor for grief.
