Manta They/he/it LORE / BACKSTORY Manta was an abandoned stray dog looking for water. Unfortunately, the only water source around was an ocean bay that was heavily polluted from power plants, labs, cities, and factories nearby. So polluted, in fact, that the water near the shore had turned a bright cyan-teal. Manta didn’t care. They had gone two and a half days without a drop of water. (water that wasn’t made of alcohol and lost dreams, that is) So, as any sane creature would, it limped over to the glowing, most likely radioactive water. They drank the water as if it were being taken away from them. (The sea level must’ve gone down by at least an inch because they drank for, like, 5 minutes straight) It dipped its paws into the water and started to play in it, but soon passed out from the effects of the murder water. (Yes, I’m calling it murder water and you can’t stop me) Manta laid there, their right back leg stretched all the way into the water. They woke up hours later, with a strange pain in their back and legs. It turned around to find a giant teal shark tail on its back and chemical water covering its front paws. It looked further back to see its entire right hind leg engulfed in the liquid. No- it wasn’t covered in it- it was… made of it! Their leg had been fully replaced by this glowing substance. They were, of course, shocked half to death by the sight and ran with all its remaining strength. Turns out, it’s hard to run wth a leg made of what is essentially bacteria slime, so they didn’t get far before toppling to the ground. I don’t want to write the boring part so uuhhhhh he regained his strength and just kinda accepted that he was a weird little sea dog thing. Fun facts about manta- related things! Other possible names for them were Mako, Moray, Neptune, Thalassophobia (don’t ask), SH4RK, Eel, Angler, F1NN, Vox (iykyk), or Abyss. I liked Mako, but it sounds too much like Meiko (the vocaloid) Neptune was a good option but I like Greek better than Roman, okay? Moray was good too but it was just kind of eh ——————— It took a while to think of a name for the water-thing-liquid, so I just thought “MURDER WATER” and i don’t regret it. ————— It was actually pretty hard to draw the shark tail (Well, harder than I thought)
