The Kinzua Bridge was located in McKean, PA, USA in what is now Kinzua Bridge State Park. This project brings the now-destroyed "Eighth Wonder of the World" back to life. Credits: Elevation data came from The National Map, which is published by the USGS Music is "Welcome Home, Son" by Radical Face History of Kinzua Bridge: The Kinzua Bridge (Also known as the Kinzua Viaduct) was a railroad bridge originally built in 1882 by the Phoenix Iron Works for the New York, Lake Erie, and Western Railway. At the time, it was the tallest and longest railroad bridge ever built. In 1900, as railcars and engines became heavier, the original wrought iron structure became outdated. The bridge was rebuilt out of steel, and was advertised as the "eighth wonder of the world." In 1950, the bridge was closed to commercial service, but remained standing. In 2003, a tornado destroyed much of the central span of the bridge. The southern end is preserved as a skywalk as part of Kinzua Bridge State Park.
