Chapter 26 - What a surprise Zelda's POV I awoke to the sound of Midna's voice. "Zelda? Zelda, get up." I heard her say. I grumbled quietly and started to roll over when I heard Link's voice. "Zelda? Are you awake?" I slowly sat up, rubbing the sleep from my eyes. I opened them just barely before Midna started impatiently pulling me out of the bed. "Come on, slowpoke, everyone's waiting for you." I shook my head lightly, trying to shake off sleep and remember last night at the same time. "What happened?" I asked, blinking until my vision cleared. "You cried yourself to sleep and Link carried you in. But that's not important right now. Come, we'll show you." Midna said, pulling me outside to the pedestal. All the links and zeldas were gathered around the pedestal, chattering excitedly amongst each other. They all fell silent as I approached. "What's happening?" I asked as Midna led me and Link to the pedestal. Link stepped up beside me. "Midna found a way to return everyone to their worlds." The desire to sleep suddenly left me in a rush. We could go back. We could finally go back. "How?" I asked. Link took my hand, making my heart jump. "Zelda, listen carefully." Goddess Hylia said, stepping forward from the center of the group. "I need you to hold your right hand out over the pedestal. I paused, then I hesitantly did as she asked. Link stepped forward and drew the Master Sword, positioning himself on the other side of the pedal and faced me. "Wild." I heard Twilight say. Link turned his head to Twilight and nodded. Then he thrust the Master Sword into the pedestal. As soon as Link's hands left the handle, blue light surrounded the Master Sword. I knew what I had to do. A golden Triforce glowed on the back of my hand as the Master Sword dissolved into blue and gold mist, forming a shallow triangle. I felt my power surge through me as the gold parts of the mist lit up and images of another world flickered in the mist. "Sky, that's your world." Twilight said, gesturing to the images. Sky Link and Zelda stepped forward and jumped without hesitation, disappearing into the mist. The images changed. One by one, each Link and Zelda jumped through and landed unharmed into their worlds. Twilight was last. Images of a broken mirror, a castle, villages, a bridge, all flickered throughout the triangle. Twilight Zelda jumped. Twilight Link stared after her. "I guess this is it." He said. Midna went to step forward, hesitated, tried again, hesitated again, then walked forward and grabbed his hand. "Together then." She said. Twilight smiled and nodded. Then they turned and jumped through together. Images of our world flickered into place. Link took my hand. "Ready?" He asked. I nodded. Then we jumped. And the mist faded out behind us. Link's POV I landed on something soft. That was my first observation. I sat up quickly and looked around, realizing that I was in Zelda's room. Her bed was comfortably soft, though it was small. Something shifted beside me. I glanced down and saw Zelda. She was on her back, started to sit up. She winced before shaking her head and getting up. She turned and grinned. "Do you like it there or what?" She said. I realized I was still laying on her bed and abruptly sat up, my face hot and my hands trembling. She laughed. I smiled at her. Suddenly, I'm not sure what I was doing, I got up, took her face in my hands, and kissed her.
