Chapter 25: Despair Zelda's POV I never thought I would have a knife pressed against my throat again. Not since Link happened. Not since we came to this danger-free world. But all that was in vain as I froze, the thrumming dark sword poised at my throat. I stared, my eyes wide with horror and fear, into the strange Link's eyes. They stared back, creepily red as ever. "I'm giving you one last chance." He said. "Come with me, and your precious novio stays safe." A tear slid down my cheek, my shoulders trembling at the thought of losing Link. The sword came closer, just enough to where it grazed my skin. I glanced down at it. The sword trembled slightly, but it was enough for me to notice. "You don't want to do this." I said, my voice barely above a whisper. The sword came closer, cutting into my throat until it dipped blood. I inhaled sharply. "No, I don't." He said. His gaze was still firm and creepy, but there was a slight waiver in his voice. "Then why are you doing this?" I asked, my voice low and hoarse. The sword trembled again, this time slightly more harsh. "I have my orders." was all he said. "Orders from who?" I asked. "Someone you don't want to meet." He responded. The sword dug even deeper in my skin, and by breathing grew shallow and rigid. "Now come with me." "I'm going to say no, and you can leave before you get hurt." A voice said behind me. I didn't dare turn. Not with the sword this deep in my skin. "...Link." I whispered. "...Help." It was a split second later and Link was beside me, the Master Sword outstretched to the odd Link's throat. "Who are you?" I asked. The odd Link smirked. "My name's Dark Link. Who else did you think I was?" Link stayed unbothered, the Master Sword still close at Dark Link's throat, but not touching. "Who is your master?" I asked shakily, still scared of the painful sword at my neck. Dark Link's smirk disappeared, replaced with a look of boredom. "My, you really AREN'T as smart as he thought you would be." Dark Link said. "I thought you would have figured it out by now." Link drove the Master Sword closer to his throat, his expression hardening. Dark Link's smirk returned. "Kohga. Master Kohga." He said. Link's POV I didn't know who Kohga was, let alone where, but as Dark Link spoke his name, a shiver went down my spine. I suddenly had a rush of anger and dug the Master Sword into Dark Link's throat, blood trickling down his neck. Dark Link's grin widened. "You remember him, don't you?" He asked. My heart sped up at the thought. I knew him? But I don't remember if I did. Instead, I reluctantly pulled my sword back and let it hang by my side. Dark Link's eyes widened in surprise. After a moment, he lowered his sword from Zelda's throat. "I will spare you this time, but next time, Me temo que no puedo tener piedad de ti." And with that, he slipped into the shadows and disappeared. There was a long moment, before I heard quiet sobs from Zelda. I turned to her, and watched her sink into the ground, her face buried in her hands. I knelt in front of her, not sure what to do except be there. Each quiet sob left a crack in my heart. I couldn't do anything. So I just stayed there. After a moment, her hands dropped from her face and she sat there with her head bowed, obviously trying to hold back her tears, but they kept falling. I opened my arms just enough to indicate that I could give her a hug~and she threw herself into me. Zelda buried her face in my neck and wrapped her arms tightly around my neck. It took me a moment to register, but I eventually wrapped my arms around her and rested my cheek on her temple. Her muffled sobs seemed to slow when I embraced her, and I hoped that maybe I could help her this time, instead of watching her get hurt while I have no weapon to fight with. I cupped my hands around her cheeks and pushed her gently away, tilting her head upward so I could see the cut on her neck. The blood was still fresh, but it didn't look too deep. I nearly melted in relief and we embraced again, allowing our fears melt off of us and soak into the soft ground.

I had an amazing idea today and I think I'm going to make, like, a digital graphic novel of this story. It'd be fun. But also, that's way in the future.
