MEL Lore 1931: the MEL company is born and Russel Whitewood is born 1942-1945: ENIAC is created 1947: MEL buys ENIAC for 560,000$ USD and it took so much time and was incredibly hard to transport and 3 MEL workers died while trying to transport 3 of the 9 feet tall and a thousand pound cabinets in a 14 day cargo ship ride (Quinton Richard, Stacy Reverend, Clark Gaylord) Kai Davler should have died but the only reason she survived was by committing cannibalism on one of the workers while they were all stuck and trapped for 8 days (6 days in). After the ship arrives back in Europe, they notice the three bloodstained cabinets toppled over, once they lift it up they find 3 bodies and an almost dead Kai Davler with dried and fresh blood on her hands, body, and face looking horrified and looks like she didn’t want to do it and regrets everything. Russel hears about this eventually since his parents were managers of the ship and also Quinton was his best friend so he wants to deal with Kai himself, he grabs a handgun he found in a locked locker, loads it and offers to wheel Kai to the cafeteria on a rainy and extremely stormy day, Russel dumps Kai out of her wheelchair out behind a ton of cargo where know one would see and aims the gun at Kai’s head, Kai looking horrified and begging for her life, Russel takes none of it and waits for the next lightning strike to shoot to cover it up, Russel throws her in a cart and covers her with dirty laundry to cover the smell and wheels her to where the bloodstained combiners are and brings chains, Russel chains her up to the cabinets and since the cabinets are bloodstained and already have a weird smell, no one will see her or notice her body. Russel lost all fear that day, at 16 years old… 1951: MEL makes the first personal computer (the M.A.C.E.) and they turned ENIAC into a data center and one of the first Artificial Intelligence (AI), the body of Kai is still inside the computer where some people question the smell but no one pays too much attention to it, Russel is now a young intern at MEL and he helps with storage, customer service, and a little bit of coding. One day Russel’s mother got pregnant with another man's child and didn't want her husband to know, she attempts to get an abortion about 3 months in and another one 5 months in but they both fail and she can't afford another abortion attempt so she carries on and hides being pregnant using any excuse she can to get out of activities, eventually when her water breaks, she's on her ship in the middle of the ocean and is no where near a hospital, so she runs to a private bathroom, bites a cloth and births her child where she and the baby are crying and blood running down her legs and she washes her and the baby off and wraps it in a jacket, and tries to hide it from all the other employees as she walks down to ENIAC in the basement and asks “Now what..? I can't show this to him, not ever. what do I do with it, where do I- *she looks around to make sure no one hears her* -get rid of it…” The computer doesn't speak, it shifts the speed of the fans and radiators and prints out a long strip of paper with coordinates leading to inside of it over and over and it prints out blue prints of certain parts, Russel’s Mother grabs a crowbar and makes her way through the massive computer and opens the biggest cabinet of them all where the coordinates lead to. She finds Kai’s body, not even recognizable and badly decomposed so she doesn't know who it is at first but then she realizes whose body it is staring into the abyss, the stench hits her almost with a physical force and the baby looks at the body and stops crying. Hiding in the corner where Russel watched the whole interaction with the computer and he follows his mother and meets her, he doesn't say a thing as his mother is still in shock, he takes the baby (the baby starts crying) and puts it in one of the cabinets next to Kai’s body (the baby stops crying and accepts it) and Russel ushers his mother out of ENIAC as its getter a lot hotter, right as they exit ENIAC, the stench gets a little stronger but no one cares. Russel and his mother agree to never talk about this again. 1952: roughly a year later The M.A.C.E. (MEL Advanced Computing Engine) is the best selling item ever. Even selling better than the Ford Model T. And everything seems to be going great, but MEL needs to relocate, where they used to store everything, (near a mountain due to its space) its flooding, and fast. So they think of places to relocate and they decide to relocate back to the USA, they hire the same company that transported
