OCSIN: 4 Name: Carter 1H Port: 10/12 RPM: 2850 Manufacturer: Carter (Nelson) Ltd. Modified attack for this siren is 4 secs on/4 secs off for 2 minutes Notes: This Carter siren was brought to the U.S. and Orange County by the county council during the Cold War, after finding the siren on a trip to the U.K. and seeing it as effective for their needs. It was first mounted on the pole as an omnidirectional, non-rotational siren, it's normal mounting. Later, it was found out that there were spots on the ends where sound was not as loud as on the sides, so, they decided to mount it on a custom turntable on the pole, therefore solving the issue. The turntable turns at about 2 RPMs. This siren is also one of few sirens that Orange County has that is not manufactured by Cyclone Siren.
