It's weird that it does this, because it only uses the result that the block returns before the loop starts. The slowness comes from the throttling that Scratch applies to the translate block. (4 seconds per translate) The things in the translate block's input are needed because if Scratch detects that the input only contains digits or that the it's exactly the same as the previous input, then it shortcuts and doesn't use the translate server
