Took 4hrs 16mins This is a first for this type of project, drawn on IbisPaint X. I am super proud of this, its an original design(hopefully-) and I named her Vespera.
ORIGINAL SPECIES BY @Echo_Da_Bean Vespera is a type of tropical dragon known as a Floraserpent. They live in humid, lush areas. Floraserpent's are incredibly clever and venomous, and release a floral scent while hunting. They hunt by hanging upside down in trees by their tails, and curling up to look like a harmless fruit or flower. When a suitable piece of prey approaches(Small mammals) they release the floral scent. It causes the prey to become extremely dizzy and nauseous. The Floraserpent will then spring its neck forward, and bite the prey, injecting it with a heart paralyzing venom. Once having caught a few small mammals, they will retreat back into the treetops for a week or so, until they need more food. Babies and lifespan: Floraserpent's are very slender and agile, and spend most of their lives in or gliding through the treetops. They never stay in one spot, and only have 1-3 clutches of 3-5 basketball sized eggs, as it takes a large amount of energy and time. They have to wait for the eggs to hatch, and then move along a group of clumsy hatchlings through a dangerous jungle. Their young stay with them for about 6 months. Once that point has been reached, whether or not they can survive, they are abandoned. They reach adulthood at 5 years, and live 40-60. Mates and Moving: They mate for life. But because they move around so much, they have to agree on a spot for the current place, then hunt and survive alone. Sometimes they rest together in their temporary nests. The only time they interact besides having hatchlings, sleeping, and moving, is if a partner gets a lethal injury. The injured partner will let out a special cry, and they mate will come for them. If a mate dies, they find a new mate of the same gender, as its new enough that they can move on. They move about every 2-3 weeks, and make temporary nests as they go. Once they find and agree on a spot, they build a nest of whatever vegetation they can find, and go off to find hunting areas.
