It cost them 50 billion in the finalized transaction. The GSTF opted to chop the head off the snake and assault shields city directly. In phase 1 of Operation Fly-swatter The GSTF's Naval Battlegroup nicknamed "Phantom Flotilla" settled in near the northern shore of Mothron and surfaced their nuclear SSGN class submarine the GSS Impaler and began tomahawk cruise missile strikes of satellite scouted SAM and anti air systems (Pantsir's Patriot's etc.) using INS TERCOM DSMAC and GPS to strike true within an accuracy of 10 feet all around. Once any and all anti air systems were rendered inoperable 3 squads of 3 F-V Specters were deployed flying fast and low towards shield city with the intent of clearing the airspace of any aircraft operated by shields. Being caught off guard by the surprise attack shields air force put up a weak resistance and the sophisticated Specters promptly obliterated it. Once the airspace over shields was secured 2 squads of F-V's were withdrawn back to the GSS Spearhead carrier one was left behind for over-watch of the airspace in case of attacks from other cities in on the revolt. the government of Mothron approved the GSTF's request to use their radar arrays to observe the airspace for security and keep F-24's and F-V's on standby. This concludes Phase 1 taking 6 hours for air superiority and 12 for complete air dominance. Phase 2 (day(s) 2): with full control of the air the GSTF deployed 4 squads of 2 F-4X's for air to ground operations being especially careful not to harm the people of shields city, the F-4X Fraggers began picking off lone infantry and armored patrols that were at least 1 mile away from civilians and civilian buildings. quickly realizing what was happening said patrols began huddling closer in towards shields and civilian structures this however did not deter Operation Fly-swatter because this was taken into account and beforehand and it is in fact exactly what we want in this scenario. once confirmation was received that shields is packed in tight 8 C-5 Galaxies were deployed carrying hundreds of GSTF mercenary operatives ( over 2800 men sorted into squads of 12 each equipped with anti armor long ranged and urban optimized loadouts ) these troops surrounded the city forming almost a wall of sniper fire all around the city to prevent any troops or civilians from leaving essentially forcing a border which cannot be crossed and was called the "Great Wall" formation before phases 3 and 4 can be carried out the GSTF High Command Council relays the following to General Yggr and Mayor Erik: 8/18/2034 "We offer you one chance to surrender and give up your rebellion, your city lies surrounded, your air force and defenses shattered, your troops demoralized, and you at a critical disadvantage. We give you 24 hours to respond or we move forth with our operation, and yes silence will be taken as refusal. Your move."
