A group of cats which rushed Hearth. Pulling strings tighter, brushing, and pruning. Hearth was all dolled up, drenched in lace, smothered in bows. A parasol with alternating colors of baby blue, and light purple, covered in small spots and stars tied it all together. She looked like a ceramic doll, dainty and delicate. Secretly, her mind was raging, she felt shacked by the lace and ribbon. It reminded her of what everyone back in district eight thought of her, just a soft spoken delicate little lady. Hearth had clung to the hunger games as an opportunity to be who she really was, but now the whole world will see a version of her that's just an illusion. She joined the line heart racing beads of sweat formed. A thought accured to her "I still have a chance I can prove who I am during this interview", she clung to this thought like it was a life-line. The cat in front of her moved up and she realized it was her turn. She walked through the door into the spotlight. Trying to act feminine she carefully walked forward. She shook slightly, her face pale, as she approached Ellema Stratocirrus. Ellema stratocirris said "who might you be? Hearth answered in a voice barely above a whisper "Hearth from district eight" "This is hearth from district eight" Ellema anouced to the crowd. She turned towards Hearth and said "oh my how soft spoken and that outfit you look like a doll! District eight fits you with all the lace and ribbons you're wearing." Hearth taken aback by the compliments said "oh well I suppose yes, my outfit does include a great amount of fabric" "Yes, speaking of district eight do you think you could tell me something about your time in district eight?" "Oh...um okay" Hearth tilted her head slightly, she had just noticed a high pitched ring. Hearth decided it was just a ringing in their ear and continued talking. "I helped spin the raw fiber into thread. I worked with the spinning wheel I often pricked my paws" "Ohh, poor dear, did it at least not hurt?" Ellema asked. "Well...um it did hurt, but I got used to it" "You got used to it! Oh my you're tougher than you look, impressive! Hearth heard the ringing again this time they were sure it wasn't just in their head. She almost opened her mouth to ask what it was but decided she didn't want to trouble Ellema. Hearth face flushed and she said "well, I try to be tough that's part of the hunger games right? "Why yes, it is! Speaking of the hunger games, what is your stragetgy" "Oh...well I have a pretty plan let's just say I wanna keep it under wraps though. Just remember there is more to me than the surface" "Ohhoho how clever! Not letting on much I like that about you smart. Smartness is a great skill what do you think is your greatest skill" "I would say it's my strength" The ringing was deafening. Hearth was trying her best to not let the panic on the inside show on the outside. "Ah yes, strength, one of the most important qualities. It will be important to help endure what comes next. Speaking of what comes next I do believe it is time for the next interviewee to come in. It was very pleasant meeting you Hearth" "It was pleasant to meet you too Ellema Stratocirrus" Hearth walked off the stage slightly frazzled but mostly okay. Her mind wandering she guessed she would never really know what that awful ringing was.
The art was made by me with paper, pens, and colored pencils. The character is Hearth my character in THGRP from district eight.
