DuckClan represents water and marshlands. They are a strict monarchy. Territory: Marshlands, with a river running through it that floods every year to make the soil the most fertile soil of all the clans. Government System: The Pharaoh makes every major decision, and can call upon the Most High Mate and the priests for guidance. Ranks (in order of importance and respect, the first is the least): Kittens: cats 5 moons and below. They do not have a suffix. (Ex: Reed) Students: cats older than five moons learning to become a soldier, crafter, or farmer. They have the suffix stream. (Ex: Reedstream) Novice: a cat older than 5 moons learning to become a priest. Takes on the suffix sight. (Ex: Reedsight) Soldiers and Crafters: cats who have learned the ways of fighting and hunting or farming. Typical suffixes related to the marshes, water or their job in some way. (Ex: Reedclaw, Reedweave, Reedriver) Farmers: cats who have learned how to farm the fertile soil. Very important to the clan's survival. They take on the suffix root. (Ex: Reedroot) Priests: the healers that can receive visions from the gods and read signs and omens. Keeps the prefix sight. (Ex: Reedsight) Mothers: the mothers of kittens. They may stay in the nursery to take care of other mothers' kits. They are very holy, and they take on the name add-on Holy. If they give birth/adopt kittens and nurse them, they will always have this name. (Ex: Holy Reedriver, Holy Pharaoh Reedriver) Most High Mate: the mate of the pharaoh. Keeps their previous name. They do not do any of their previous work, instead giving advice to the Pharaoh and helping them. (Ex: Holy Reed, Reedclaw, Reedweave, Reedriver, Reedroot) The Pharaoh: the leader. Makes all the major decisions, and is considered to be an incarnation of a god, usually The Creator. The kittens of the Pharaoh who become soldiers are the only cats who can inherit the throne. Gets the word Pharaoh in front of their previous name. (Ex: Pharaoh Reedriver, Pharaoh Holy Reed, etc) The gods (in order of importance, the first is most important): The Creator: the Creator of the universe and the most important god. C'odeword is Creation. The god of light, the sun, and creation. The Most Holy Mother: the god of healing, motherhood, and protection. Mudfang: the god of storms, floods, and the wilderness. Bonescent: the god of burial rites and pathfinding. Silentshade: the god of the afterlife. Highclaw: the god of the sky, combat, and royalty. Burial and afterlife: When a cat dies, the priests wrap them tightly in the hemp fiber they make out of the hemp they grow. They then put them in the river, and their spirit floats away to the afterlife, with every other deceased cat of DuckClan. They must be wrapped properly, or their spirit won't be able to get out or it will drown. Ceremonies: When a kitten becomes a student or a novice, there is a ceremony asking for a blessing from a god, and there is a 1/100 chance that you will actually get a blessing, and a 1/200 chance that the favor of the gods will not be upon you, and you are cursed. The same thing happens with the student > soldier, farmer, or crafter and the novice > priest. When a cat becomes a pharaoh, there is a ceremony that gives the pharaoh a 1/3 chance to be blessed and a 1/10 chance to be cursed. A cat cannot be cursed and blessed at the same time. Blessings are rolled before curses.
Priests may not have mates or kittens, and may not become Pharaoh. Main studio: https://scratch.mit.edu/studios/51835751
