Extra Info: I didn't mention it in the project, but another way to code DECtalk to sing is by instead of doing something like this: [ow<500,10>] [ow<500,14>] (where each thing sung is a chunk of separate code, even if its all for one word and it comes out as one word), you can do: [ow<500,10>ow<500,14>] (A.K.A. removing the "] ["s except for the one at the start and end. You can also do something like this to make DECtalk sing: Hi[ix<500,14>] or Hi[ix<500,14>ix<500,12>ix<500,1410>] If you are trying to make spaces/pauses in your song, do something like [_<500>] [lah<500,10>] or [_<500>lah<500,10>]. If messing with the pauses/underscores (_) or just anything causes DecTalk to just not work even if the code is taken out; 1. Troubleshoot the code 2. Copy the troubleshooted code 3. Refresh the DECtalk website 4. Paste the code back into DECtalk 5. Submit the code again 6. Try all steps over and over until your code is read as a valid command. "Can I change DECtalk's voice?" Yes! DECtalk is normally using the voice "PAUL" but using the command [:name XX] (or [:nXX], and replacing "XX" with: "PAUL" or "p" (default male voice) "HARRY" or "h" (deep male voice) "FRANK" or "f" (aged male voice) "DENNIS" or "d" (just a random male voice) "BETTY" or "b" (Female voice, but to me it sounds like an alien) "URSULA" or "u" (aged female voice, still kinda alien) "WENDY" or "w" (horror) "RITA" or "r" (random alien female voice) "KIT" or "k" (child(...?) voice) "VAL" or "v" (sounds like Paul but is more melodic and kinda more robotic? Idk, they sound like Paul #2 to me.) About LINtalker: LINtalker is a tts system similar to DECtalk. LINtalker has multiple "voices" with effects! However, unlike DECtalk, you can't make any of the LINtalker voices sing... But there ARE some LINtalker voices such as Bells, Good News, Bad News, Pipe Organ, and Cellos that all "voicecode" your text into a preexisting tune! "Why does DECtalk sound so FAMILIAR?" DECtalk might sound familiar because his software has been used by many people and in many pieces of media; his software was used to allow Stephen Hawking to speak, similar softwares have been used as tts for things like Bonzi Buddy and Kinito Pet, and (as brought up in the project) his "voice" was heavily used in the space simulation game, Moonbase Alpha. Also, about Moonbase Alpha... I mentioned in the project that if you want to, you can look up some playthroughs of this game... PLEASE BE CAREFUL WHEN DOING THIS! Again, many of these videos came about in the 2010s+, back when the internet was overall just an "Edgier" place, and many things/"jokes"/insults that are said in some of these less serious videos (be it by tts, or an actual person) are horrendous and awful, so i'd recommend looking at actual serious playthroughs doing what the game is intended to be played like, or just looking at Moonbase Alpha/DECtalk song covers. / / (`,') / rr @\))_
