Date: May 18th, 2026. Southwest flight 221 was flying from Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport to Harry Reid International Airport. The flight was operated by an Airbus A321neo, the only plane out of the A320neo family Southwest operates. Mid way through the flight, improper maintenance on a fan blade in the left engine would cause it to chip and subsequently cause the engine to jam. This caused a thrust imbalance and caused the plane to violently roll to the left. 12 seconds later, pieces of the chipped fan blade would come out of the engine due to the G-forces, eventually hitting the fuselage and causing major cracks to form. Later, the airplane's frame would rapidly weaken, causing the plane to eventually break apart mid-air. The wreckage was later found by the NTSB and FAA in a field in Alexandra Meadows Park, located 21 and a half miles from DFW.
