★The Diary of a Champion: Part 1★ Chapter 7: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1351892606 ____________________________________________ Chapter 8: As I began my descent to the Temple of Time, I remembered how strangely familiar the old man's voice sounded. He had the same booming, authoritative voice as the deceased king of Hyrule. Nomatter who he truly was, it was imperative I meet him soon at the Temple. The temple of time was once a sacred gathering place where once every two years, the King, the princess, and the king's royal guards would begin the arduous trek to the Temple of Time and ask the goddess to bestow blessings upon them. It was a joyful time of celebration when Zelda would rejoice at the fact the goddess had blessed us with another two years of peace and prosperity. That is, until the Calamity broke out. All terror broke loose and the citizens of Hyrule seemed to have no faith in their king. All hope was lost, Until the day I woke from my hundred years' slumber. Now I must return to the present, and not dwell on the bloody, battle-torn, ruined place Hyrule had become. I focused my eyes on the beaten, cracked jewel in the midst of my thoughts, and I was once again standing before the temple of time. The same one still standing, even through the calamity, albeit it was in a much worse state now. I peered inside to make sure there were no enemies. Then, I creeped under the ruined stone arch with Hyrule's crest. I walked toward the goddess statue, in awe and saddened at what had become of the once majestic temple. A place that had been honored and respected and tended to every minute Hyrule prospered. But now, it lay in shambles. No more than the old Akalla citadel where Hyrule's greatest soldiers gave their lives. That was where Hyrule had taken its last stand. I felt extremely sorrowful and sentimental, but I dragged my aching feet out of the ruined building and grabbed the first rung of a ladder that I hoped would support my weight. Once I reached the top, the ladder gave way just as I pulled my foot from the top handle! Thankful I hadn't grabbed onto a shingle a moment later, I pulled myself up and my eyes met the mysterious old man's. "Ah! You finally showed up!" Began the old man, "I was worried you'd spend all day daydreaming about your shadowy past." It at that statement he said made it clear he was no ordinary old codger. I played along, "Oh yes, this place is very dear to me." He responded "It's important to me as well. Young boy, you see, I am much more than a wondering nomad. I am none other than the last king of Hyrule." My beamed at him. This was much wilder than I could've imagined! "I am King Rhoam Bosphoromus Hyrule. And I have presumed from the start, that you are link." "Indeed I am." I replied. "Calamity Ganon has usurped the throne and has taken my daughter, Princess Zelda (at the mention of her name, I felt butterflies in my stomach) to gain absolute power. He seeks to use his guardians and minions to terrorize the kingdom of Hyrule and this torment can't go on much longer! Link, take this Paraglider." At this offer, I was grateful to have a way to get down from the temple's roof. "Sir, it will be my honor to save both Hyrule and your daughter. After all, I am Zelda's chosen protector." He finished with this, "You are. So take it and use it wisely. I am a mere specter, and don't have enough power in this state to tell you all the details. Seek Impa in Kakariko village. The information she can give you will be a great asset in helping you on your quest." I gazed down at the woven pattern in the paraglider's fabric and rubbed it. When I looked up, the old man had disappeared! At this moment, I realized just how beautiful Hyrule was, even in its current position. The sunrise caught my eye, and the magenta mixed with yellow and orange created a beautiful array of colors between the Dueling Peaks. I had found my calling. I jumped off of the belltower and felt the wind fill my nostrils and beat against my ruddy face. I shut closed my eyes and took a deep breath. The air I breathed felt cool and untamed. It was THE BREATH OF THE WILD. ____________________________________________ Chapter 9: Coming Soon! Image from Google Search Music from Archive.org
