Achromatopsia research: Achromatopsia is an inherited genetic trait where the person's This causes the person to suffer from complete grayscale colorblindness (meaning no colored sight.) Symptoms of this are: photophobia, reduced vision during the day, and nystagmus (involuntary back and forth eye movements). Aphantasia research: Aphantasia is a congenital condition where you are unable to voluntarily conjure up images in your head. Most people with this condition say that they mainly see a "dark void where the image might have been" or that they can conceptually see the apple, but actually not imagine it. 90% of the time it's present at birth, but sometimes, it can be acquired via a brain injury or brain disease. (Soul has it from birth.) Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD) research: NPD is a mental disorder that is mainly characterized by repeated / persistent pattern of self-importance, constant need for adoration / admiration and one's lack of basic empathy. They also take advantage of other's misfortunes, are known for being envious / thinking others are, and arrogance. This usually happens due to childhood trauma / neglect, parent pampering (or, on the flipside, over criticism from the parent figure), or simple genetics and how the brain processes behaviors / regulates emotions. However, this disorder has two sub-categories of personality. There are the overts (Grandiose and loyd, usually the ones with the inflated ego and the attitude like everyone is beneath them), and the coverts (those with the more quieter symptoms, like being defensive and self-conscious). NPD is very much like a spectrum of both how intense these symptoms are, as well as the mix of traits, meaning some can lean more towards being on the overt side, others lean more towards the coverts side, and some people are in the middle, and with some you can barely tell they have these traits, while with others it is like a big flag. (People with NPD CAN BE HELPED via talk therapy. Those with NPD ARE NOT BAD PEOPLE.) Chimerism research: Chimerism in cats is what happens when two embryos in the womb combine / merge together. The most common example of this is orange-black chimerism, where the cat has both dark gray / black and orange fur (different from a tortoiseshell!!). Common health issues / concerns with chimerism in cats are: infertility (though Grand Jr will not suffer from this, due to two female embryos merged instead of one of each gender), heightened risk to autoimmune diseases (such as lupus or thyroid disease), and the issue of confusing / misleading blood tests and bone marrow tests (for blood / marrow transplants).
