US forces were deployed to secure the area in between the two lands in order to keep the Expansionists at bay.

If they are able to bring back the ample supplies back to their military it could be enough to push through the defenses and conquer their target. The US government were unwilling to destroy the facility with air support due to its valuability, so they instead launched a small squadron of soldiers to the conquered base in a plan to take it back early in the morning. Their mission is as follows: 1. Destroy the enemy carrier ship (which will ship the supplies if they don't). 2. Hold out until reinforcements arrive to secure the facility.
