this is my entire second semester of art !! the last few are out of chronological order but its fine 1. head studies feat. rains usual head drawings 2. was getting pissed at the sub we had so rain drew it all blocky but actually doesn't have the original or any of the drafts or final ?????? 3-4. shell !! was the only "natural geometry" thing that didn't heebie rains jeebies 5-7. live flower study w/o looking at the paper 8-10. live flower study with looking at the paper 11. mark rothko study drafts 12. the final mark rothko study [ its actually really big im estimating like 3 feet tall, for reference the thinnest lines on the written text are from a thin sharpie. i was forced to write this i didn't want to ] 13. bird !! my art teacher made me redo this and felt bad so gave me a popsicle eraser [ you can see the second one behind it but it has personal stuff so not showing ] >>> for the remaining pieces excuse my awful watermarking, i decided on that relatively late </3 14. study of jacopo bellini, supposedly the guy who basically started the renaissance. freehanded w a reference while everyone else traced ;o; 15. study of william kentridge !! still happy w this one 16. my own project using leftover oil paints from 18. showed someone and they said it was "stormy" but no this is just the shadowy side, dont you see the light on the other end ?? [ no canvas, on a literal cut piece from a folder ] 17. another self project w leftover oil paints, but w my memories of a lovely lighthouse this time !! its very small, note card sized, and on cardboard 18. big oil painting !! the reason there's so much less art from the second semester is because i spent over a month i think on this painting. im awful with landscapes and my colors were extremely limited, so i couldnt quite capture the magenta glow ( because how do I mix magenta ?? with just red ?? mixing w blue just looked like mud ). i promise the clouds look better in person. but this left me with a lot of leftover paint, which i used for the previous two pieces. this was on an actual canvas 19. CAT !!! this was another self project, and i did it in my free class time and during study hall. its a study of the painting "the white cat" by franz marc, but i put my own cat into the painting. im very happy with how it turned out even though i was just gaslighting the paint into looking like it had shadows. the shading style turned out to be rather simple and just using black rather than mixing saturated colors [ fun fact, i chose this painting cos i had seen it on a mousepad at some point in time for so long it had been burned into my memory, even to the point that i had a dream in this art style when i was really little ] 20. BIG painting that was an assignment, and that my art teacher randomly put into an art show. on the left is a stapler and on the right is a hole puncher for a full page to put into a binder, for both size reference and because the painting is rolled up to store it and therefore could not be flat aaand that was my school year in art !! yippee
