Okay, for all of you curious, how do I get an AU for a kit who I’ve only had for ~3 days? Well, to answer that, Fireflykit likes rock stacking, but is notoriously bad at it. This is the “What if Fireflykit had accepted instruction on rock stacking instead of crashing out”. Fireflykit stared at the rock stack before him. Well, more like a rock pile. No matter how much he tried to build it up to the proper height, or at least something minorly impressive, it ended up all tumbling down. Why? He swore that he was doing it right… these were rocks, and he was stacking them. So why did the whole pile fall down the second that Fireflykit tried to add more than two rocks to it? He paused for a moment, exhaling with frustration. Another kit had told him he was supposed to use flat rocks. But that was dumb! His lumpy rocks were still rocks, they could still be used for rock stacking… right? Fireflykit paused, glancing at his pile of lumpy, misshapen rocks. Maybe… just maybe. He turned, and walked away, collecting a collection of much flatter rocks that he could use. It was harder to collect rocks because, instead of just picking up whatever, he intentionally collected only the flattest, most perfectest rocks ever. He didn’t like it. It felt like a huge waste of his time! They were all just rocks, there was no way that they would /actually/ do something special… it took some time, but Fireflykit eventually returned to his rock stacking spot with a pile of five or six flat, oval shaped rocks. He stared dubiously at the ground, carefully setting the first rock on the ground. Then, he set another rock on top of it. It didn’t fall, of course. Fireflykit could usually get two. Then, fireflykit stacked his third. Then a fourth. And then a fifth. Fireflykit stared in shock as his rock stack got taller and taller, getting so high that he had stacked all of his flat rocks. And the rock stack wasn’t even falling over. He purred excitedly, jumping up and down as he squealed contentedly. There /was/ a difference in the rocks! Flat rocks really /did/ stack better than the round lumpy rocks! Fireflykit swished his tail– whoops. He turned and watched as his entire rock stack, the tallest rock stack he had ever built, tumbled to the ground, scattering into nothing, resetting all of his progress. Fireflykit spent the rest of the day crying, insisted that he would never stack rocks ever again, and could be seen stacking rocks only a day later.
