All my life I'd been told this surgery would be the greatest thing that happened to me, that it would fix me, make me able to do all the things I've ever dreamed of. Ironic, isn't it? The very place that was supposed to — *promised* to — fix things, help us and this. . . grisly situation, was the thing that was causing it all along. And it hurts to know that the last face I saw before surgery was that ■■■■■. The very person who ruined my life. I feel so stupid to realize only now, when it's too late, that they made me into this. . . horrible, . . . horrible creature, on purpose. They never meant to heal me.
